The Scholastic Program

The Scholastic Program is our one-week program designed to provide a more affordable institute focusing on the policy debate topic. The program will closely follow the first week of the Regent's Program. However, the Scholastic program participants will focus more on theory comprehension and research. Students will have ample time within our research facilities and will be mixed with Regent Program participants in order to receive the greatest value for their time. Scholastics will not focus on debate skills, as the schedule for the week does not accommodate that option. However, they will receive the evidence compiled by all Regent labs up to the end of the Scholastic program. Additionally, they will have access to the entire policy faculty and also take part in special topic seminars before they depart at the end of the week. So if honing debate theory and research are your needs for the activity, the MUDI Scholastic Program is the place for you.

Important Note:

If you are a debater looking for skill development as part of your institute experience, we strongly encourage you to consider the two week Regent Program which offers a full week of skill development opportunities.

Commuter Option: Although a great deal of work and community building occurs in the evening, MUDI does offer a commuter option. Commuters arrive at 9am and may leave at 8pm most days (a complete schedule is made available at registration).
