Stephanie Adkins

Stephanie Adkins is in her third year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she is a pre-law student majoring in Political Science and minoring in German. As a political science student, she has received exceptional grades and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society. She plans on going to law school after completing her undergraduate studies, probably in Washington, D.C. or Boston. Since she has been a student at UW-Oshkosh, Stephanie has been a member of the debate team, president of the pre-law society, member of the Political Science Students' Association, secretary of the FreeThinkers Society, and an Honors student. She is a very hard worker and has either received grades of Honorary status or made the Deans List. She also works part-time at the Oshkosh Bank.
Stephanie's debate experience includes three years of policy debate in high school, competing in Varsity 4-person and Varsity Switch-Side, qualifying for the State tournament twice, as well as winning numerous tournaments and speaker awards. She also participated in Forensics in high school, specifically in Special Occassion speaking, of which she qualified for the State tournament as well. Currently, she is a member of the UW-Oshkosh Debate team that travels across the country competing at different parlimentary tournaments. She has been a member of the UW Oshkosh Debate team for one and a half years. Also, she has competed at the NPDA National Tournament. As a debater she frequently writes cases, disadvantages, counterplans, kritiks, and all other useful arguments. She has won speaker awards while competing on the national circuit in college for parlimentary debate.
Throughout her years of debating, Stephanie has learned debate is an acquired skill. It takes a lot of hard work to perfect that skill with the help of excellent coaches. She has worked with speech coaches, as well as numerous debate coaches to exceed in both high school and college debate. As a leader at MU this summer, she hopes to pass on the knowledge and skill she has obtained throughout her years of debating to MUDI students.
