Pete Clancy

Pete Clancy currently serves as an assistant debate coach at Cedar Rapids Washington high school in Iowa. Pete graduated from Drake University with a BSE in secondary education and a BA in English. During his time at Drake, he developed a significant interest in gender and feminist theory and graduated with a concentration in women's studies.
At Washington, Pete spends most of his time working with novice policy debaters and has coached students to out-rounds in the novice division of several regional and national circuit tournaments. Before Wash, he was the director of speech and debate at Roosevelt high school in Des Moines, Iowa. While there, he coached students in policy, Lincoln-Douglass, Public Forum, and extemporaneous speaking. During his time at Roosevelt, he coached finalists in extemporaneous speaking at both the Harvard and George Mason invitationals as well as the 2006 Iowa State Champions in public forum.
