Brent Hansford

Brent Hansford was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. As a high school sophomore, he began debating in the Atlanta Urban Debate League. By his senior year, Brent was one of the top debaters in the state of Georgia. He and his partner became the first UDL team to clear at the National Forensic League Tournament. In 2000, Brent was awarded the Martin L. King Jr. Scholarship ($140,000 full) to Emory University. As a first year college student, he began teaching as a debate instructor. Since then, Brent has taught students in Atlanta, New York City, Baltimore, Southern California, and Miami. In 2004, he played an essential role in the establishment of the Computer Assisted Debate Program in Atlanta. In 2005, he contributed to the development of the Miami Dade Urban Debate League and Baypoint Debate Project. Brent is currently completing a Masters of Fine Arts in cinema production at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.
